Vicksburg Massacre
In 1876, in Vicksburg, Mssissippi a mob of whites killed a group of African Americans who were helping an African American police officer be acquitted from his wrongful charges. Now this event is known as the Vicksburg Massacre.

Georgia Prison Riot
In 1974, in Georgia, a group of white inmates rioted because the prison desegragated the living quarters. Fourty seven inmates were injured, and five were killed in the riot.

Rodney King Beating
In 1991, police officers pulled over a twenty-one year old African American man for speeng. After a short high speed chase, the police officers pulled King out of the car and beat him. He suffered major injuries, and this was one of the first police brutality videos recorded.
